A lot of new music comes out over the course of any given
week and this one was no exception. This week saw a wealth of new songs and
music videos hit the internet, including tracks from the likes of Madonna,
the Black Eyed Peas, Liam Gallagher, Keane, Bon Iver and more.
Vinyl Bay 777, Long Island’s music outlet, loves new music.
That’s why we’ve once again scoured the internet for this week’s hottest new
songs and music videos. Here are six (and a few more) of our favorite new
tracks that we think are worth checking out.
1.
Joey Cape, “The Love Of My Life”: The second
single off Lagwagon frontman Joey Cape’s upcoming solo album ‘Let Me Know When
You Give Up,’ “The Love Of My Life” is a sweet, melody-fueled track that again
goes beyond just his usual vocal and acoustic guitar approach to solo music.
Its style is slow yet upbeat with Cape’s well-crafted lyrics and husky vocal
sincerity on full display. (video)
2.
Muna,
“Number One Fan”: “Number One Fan” is an upbeat synth-pop jam about being your
own biggest fan. Its air-y synths and bouncing, danceable beat feel both retro
and current, and will have you out of your seat and dancing by mid-track. (video)
3.
Black
Eyed Peas feat. Snoop
Dogg, “Be Nice”: It’s such an overly simple, borderline cheesy song, but
“Be Nice” kind of grows on you after a while. Will.I.Am, Apl.de.ap and guest
Snoop Dogg (Taboo doesn’t play much of a role in the vocals) are purveyors of
the golden rule in this old school rap with a light, easy island vibe. (video)
4.
Sub-Radio, “Room For You”: “Room For You” is a
fun, pop-y, synth-tinged rock track that will make you jump up and dance. From
its dreamy verses to its big, joyous chorus and over-the-moon finale, the song
is a wild ride that demands your attention. (video)
5.
Liam Gallagher, “Showckwave”: Oasis’
Liam Gallagher is back with the first single from his upcoming second solo
album ‘Why Me? Why Not.’ “Shockwave” is a guitar-heavy rocker with a grime-y
feel and 1990s garage rock/Brit-pop vibes. (video)
6.
Keane, “The Way I Feel”: “The Way I Feel” is an
energized piece of pop-rock with a big melody that seems to contradict its
conflicted subject matter. Tim Rice-Oxley’s lyrics reach to find meaning,
trying to make sense of something lost, while the melody swirls, evolving into
this big sound that together are both pop-y and urgent. (video)
